The Child Study Team's primary function is to evaluate and design
appropriate programs for students experiencing learning difficulties.
Some children may be eligible for special education, and individual
programs are designed for these students. The members of the team,
including school psychologists, social workers, learning disabilities
teacher/consultant, speech therapists, nurses and the school physician,
also coordinate community services that are available to students. Both
individual and group counseling are offered to selected students in each
school, and the Team also determines eligibility for related services
such as speech correction, occupational therapy, physical therapy,
adaptive equipment, etc.
