Deck
Permit Application Requirements:
1. Complete application- jacket, building subcode and certificate application.
2. Survey of property to show location and size of proposed deck.
3. Two sets of detailed drawings of deck.
4. Permit will be processed for Zoning approval.
5. All contractors must provide a copy of the Home Improvement Contractors Certification. Applications will not be accepted without the required registration.
6.Plans to include:
- Footing Locations
- Footing depth - 36" minimum
- Footing width - 12" minimun
- Deck length, width and height
- Stair details and location
- Stair riser height - 8 1/4" maximum
- Stair tread depth - 9" minimum
- Stair width - 36" minimum
- Handrail height - 30"-38" on at least 1 side with 3 or more risers, graspable - 1-1/4" to 2-5/8" in diameter. Ends will be returned, or shall terminate the newel posts or safety terminals
- Guardrail height 36" minimum when more than 30" above grade
- Baluster spacing less than 4" in-between at widest space
- Size and spacing of posts, girders and joists
- Detail of girder with size and spans
- Detail of floor joists, size and spans
- Flooring type
- Ledget size, bolt size, and layout detail
- Flashing detail, drip cap flashing is required, aluminum cannot be used
- All hardware must e rust resistant, NO screws allowed on joist hangers
- Need grade and species of lumber
7.Inspections Required:
- Footings, when the holes are complete, before concrete is poured. ledger must be bolted inplace with drip cap flashing for footing inspection
- framing or open deck is required with stairs installed
- Final when deck is completely finished

Permit Application Requirements 100 Sq ft and under requires a Zoning Permit Only. 100 Sq ft and over, maximun height is 16' high, requires a Construction Permit:
1.
Complete permit application, jacket, building subcode and certificate application.
2.Two sets of detailed drawings fro shed, or brochure on pre-fab shed.
3. All sheds shall be placed on 4" of stone or 4" concrete slab, and to be anchored
4. All contractors must possess a "Home Improvement Contractors Certification" from the New Jersey State Attorney General's Office

Pools (Inground and Public Pools)
Permit Application Requirements:
1. All contractors must possess a "Home Improvement Contractors Certification" from the new Jersey State Attorney Generals Office.
2. Complete permit package including jacket, building, electric and plumbing subcodes, certificate application, and homeowners pool certification.
3. Survey of property to include lot grading requirements, and proposed location of pool.
4. Fence must be shown on survey regardless of proposed or existing.
5. Pool barrier fences; gate must open outward, be self closing and self latching. Base of the fence must be to grade and not to exceed 2".
6. Inground pools - sealed specifications of the pool, two sets.
7. Brochures on pool, filter, and pump.
8. If the pool is to be heated, a brochure on the heating unit and gas piping diagram is required.
9. Prior to a final inspection a Diving Board Certification must be submitted and approved.
10.All pools will be processed for Zoning Department and Engineering Department approvals.
11. Public Poolswill also be processed for Health Department approval in addition to Zoning and Engineering.
12. Public Poolswill be required to have bonding and grounding certification.

Permit Application Requirements:
1. All contractors must possess a "Home Improvement Contractors Certification" from the new Jersey State Attorney Generals Office.

3. Survey of property to show location of pool and distances.
4. On the survey, it must be indicated how the pool will be protected. both new and existing fences should be indicated.

Permit Application Requirements:

4. new heating units must have a chimney certification from completed and signed.
5. A carbon monoxide detector must be installed within 10' of the bedroom areas.

Additions - Residential
Permit Application Requirements:
1.
Complete permit application, jacket, building, electric, plumbing and fire subcodes, certification application.
2.All contractors must possess a "Home Improvement Contractors Certification" from the New Jersey State Attorney General's Office.
3. Copy of survey to show proposed location of addition.
4. two sets of drawings, signed and sealed be architect or drawn by homeowner. Contractor may not draw structural plans. Licenses Plumbers and Electricians may draw and seal plumbing and electric plans.
5. Plans to Include: Building
- Basement foundation; plan of footings, size and depth and foundation. Size of walls, block or concrete, height of walls, height of backfill.
- Crawl Space - Show size and height of walls, vents and access.
- Slabs - 4" of concrete and reinforcement wire, 4" stone, 6 mil vapor barrier with radon pipong.
- Frame - Species and grade of all lumber
- Floor Joists - size and span of all joists, TJI's or truss - 2 sets
- Flooring - Material being used
- Framing - framing detail on walls, size of lumber, header sizes, size of girders being used. If manufactured lumber, must be sealed. Sheathing and siding.
- First Floor Plan - ceiling - size and spans
- Roof - size and spans, if truss - 2 sets plans, plywood for roofing material, venting of roof, attic access, insulation in walls, floors and ceilings.
- Heat loss calculations and HVAC layouts
- Windows and doors.
- Tempered glass by all tubs and/or Jacuzzi's
6. Electric - wiring diagram required
7. Plumbing - plumbing and gas drawings
8. Fire - CO alarms and smoke detectors required by Code

New Single Family Dwelling
Permit Application Requirements:
1.
Permit Package - Homeowner may sign as their own agent, Contractors must sign and seal appropriate subcodes and must provide their Federal Employment Number or Social Security Number
2. Building Subcode Technical Section - Must provide cubic footage of dwelling
3.Electric Subcode Technical Section - A WR# (work request#)N#(notification #) obtained from GPU is required for a service inspection
4. Two sets of plans must be submitted and must be sealed by a licensed architect or engineer. Plans must include radon mitigation
5. If well and septic system
is to be installed, application and plans must be submitted to the Health Department at the time of permit
submission.
6. Survey of the property.
7. Shade Tree Commission - tree
removal permit.
8. Mount Laurel contribution
- worksheet will be forwarded to the Township Tax
Assessor for calculation. Fifty percent
(50%) payment will be required prior to
permit issuance, and fifty percent (50%)

11.Additional inspections may be required on fire damage, pools, roofing, siding and fences; Final inspections are required for each applicable code area before a final occupancy/approval may be issued.
12.An as buildt survey/foundation location is required prior to foundation inspection
13.A copy of the Township Construction Permit is required for construction debris to be accepted at the Freehold Township Recycling Center.
