Dog Licensing
All owners or caretakers of dogs residing
in the Township must be licensed by the Health Department.
The licensing fee is $11.00 per year for each spayed/neutered
dog and $14.00 per year for each non-spayed /non-neutered
dog. A three year license is also available for $33.00
for each spayed/neutered dog and $42.00 for each non-spayed/non-neutered
dog. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required and
must
not expire before October 31st of the licensing year (or
final year of 3 year license).
To pay the lower licensing fees, proof of spay/neuter
is required. Licenses are valid for the calendar year
from January to December. To license your dog, you must
complete an application,
provide proof of rabies inoculation, proof of spaying
or neutering, and pay the appropriate fees. You may license
by mail or in person at the Health Department during business
hours. If your dog is already licensed, you should receive
a notice of renewal in late December of the expiration
year. The license can be
renewed by mail by noting any necessary changes on the
renewal form
(i.e. address change etc.) and enclosing the proper fee
payable by check or money order. Dogs that are registered
after January 31st are subject to a $5.00 late registration
fee.
Kennels and pet shops require a license
and are inspected at least once a year.
If you have a question or complaint about a pet shop or
kennel, please call the Health Department at (732) 294-2060. |
